Michael Moiseyev, a former assistant director at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) who oversaw hundreds of merger reviews, has joined Weil, Gotshal & Manges.
After 30 years at the FTC, Moiseyev will now be a part of Weil’s global antitrust and competition practice, the firm announced Monday, April 27, in a press release.
Moiseyev has served as the assistant director of the FTC’s Mergers I Division for the past 16 years, where he oversaw investigations into health care deals as well as technology related mergers and deals involving defense and consumer related products.
As assistant director, Moiseyev oversaw all aspects of a merger investigation including preparing final recommendations to the commission on whether to block a deal.
Moiseyev also helped lead the FTC’s coordination with competition authorities abroad, including the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority and Canada’s Competition Bureau.
