UK Rivals Have Accused BT Of Stifling Competition

BT has recently been subject to several accusations by its smaller competitors regarding competitiveness in the British broadband market. In response, one of BT’s rivals has called for a full breakup of the company, which was previously owned by the state, reported Bloomberg.

BT, a company based in London, owns the Openreach network, which is the only broadband network of its kind in the UK. In order to address competition issues that arose between BT and its subsidiary Openreach, legal measures were put in place in 2017-18 to separate Openreach from BT. As a result of these procedures, BT now sells broadband services on the Openreach infrastructure.
