The National Commission for Markets and Competition (CNMC) has targeted travel agencies for possible anti-competitive practices. These would have consisted of agreements to manipulate and distribute tenders called by the General State Administration in the provision of travel agency services in Spain and abroad.

Sources consulted by Cinco Días confirm that one of the inspected companies was Viajes El Corte Inglés, which was visited by CNMC officials at two of its offices in Madrid, located on Avenida de Cantabria and Calle San Severo, at least three days prior to Holy Week.
The CNMC points out that these inspections represent a preliminary step in the investigation process of the alleged anti-competitive behaviors and do not prejudge the result of the investigation or the culpability of the inspected companies.
