On Thursday evening, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, a top grossing US law firm, announced that their new top leader will be Jeremy London, a corporate partner based in Washington, DC.
Jeremy London will replace Eric Friedman as the executive partner of the 1,600-lawyer firm. According to a statement from Friedman, the partnership made an excellent choice in selecting London for the role.
According to data collected by The American Lawyer, Skadden’s annual revenue under Friedman increased to $3 billion in 2022. There were slight drops in 2009 and 2020, but the average profits for its 321 equity partners reached $5 million.

The firm’s head count declined during Friedman’s tenure, however, from 2,200 lawyers when he took over in 2008 to more than 1,600 lawyers in 2022.
“Through his steadfast leadership, Eric Friedman has personified our values, enriched our culture and positioned us for ongoing success,” London said in a statement.
London has worked at Skadden since 1996, starting as a summer associate. One of his top clients is Centene Corp and he represented them during their acquisitions of WellCare, Health Net, and Magellan Health Inc, according to his Skadden profile.
