Simpson Thacher & Bartlett has added Karen Kazmerzak as a Partner in its Litigation Department. A prominent antitrust expert, Ms. Kazmerzak will be based out of the Washington, DC office and focus on antitrust matters while working closely with the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions Practice.

With her addition to the team, Simpson Ms. Kazmerzak brings extensive experience in the antitrust arena, having served as an advisor to clients in a range of industries on matters relating to competition law. She has been involved with high-profile litigation and investigations before the Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission and state attorneys general, providing counsel on merger reviews, civil investigations and antitrust compliance. Ms. Kazmerzak also advises clients on all phases of transactions, from initial due diligence through closing.
Ms. Kazmerzak brings over two decades of experience in antitrust law to Simpson Thacher. Her practice focuses on merger clearance and investigations conducted by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Department of Justice (DOJ). She also advises clients on a variety of other competition matters, such as cartel investigations, monopolization claims, and antitrust compliance.
She has represented clients in a broad range of industries, including technology, media, financial services, retail, manufacturing, and health care.
