Senator Richard Blumenthal stated on Sunday that there is a possibility of a Congressional hearing regarding the LIV Golf-PGA Tour merger in the coming weeks.
“The American people deserve a clear look at the facts here,” Blumenthal (D-Conn.) said during an interview on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” reported Politico.
The recent merger of the LIV Golf tour with ties to the Saudi royal family has garnered criticism from political leaders, activists, and 9/11 families.

Blumenthal, who chairs a Homeland Security investigative subcommittee, initiated an investigation into the disputed agreement on June 26, requesting that officials provide numerous records pertaining to the merger.
“While few details about the agreement are known, PIF’s role as an arm of the Saudi government, and PGA Tour’s sudden and drastic reversal of position concerning LIV Golf raise serious questions regarding the reasons for and terms behind the announced agreement,” the Connecticut Democrat wrote in a letter to PGA Commissioner Jay Monahan.
Blumenthal stated that if the leaders do not heed his request, they may use any available tools, such as subpoenas, hearings, recommendations for action, and legislation.
“We are ready and willing to seek information by whatever legal means we have to obtain it.”
