Russia: Regulator to announce Samsung price-fixing fine soon

Russia’s state antitrust regulator, the Federal Antimonopoly Service, will announce in summer what fine Samsung has to pay for fixing prices on its gadgets, the agency’s deputy chief said Thursday, May 16.

“We will not drag out this case, even though we have a year. We will not spend a year on it.

The decision will be made in summer, maybe even before the summer recess,” Andrey Tsarikovskiy told reporters.

The Russian watchdog found the local subsidiary of the South Korean technology giant guilty of fixing prices on its Galaxy phones and tablets in April. It stated the company’s cooperation with the investigation would be factored in when it announced the penalty.
