Russian federal competition regulator FAS has started an investigation into the increase in roaming rates at mobile operator Megafon, reports Vedomosti. Megafon raised standard roaming rates by 20 percent to 2,200 percent in 38 states on 12 December 2016.
The investigation comes amid suspicions Megafon violated the Law on Competition. The operator could face a fine totaling RUB 300,000 to RUB 1 million. Other operators haven’t raised their roaming rates.
