Romania: Competition Council investigating health services for price fixing

The Competition Council has initiated an investigation into the health services that are not reimbursed by the National Health Insurance House and are paid directly by the patients.

The case deals with a possible anti-competitive agreement between two important organizations representing family doctors on fixing prices for health services that are not reimbursed by the National Health Insurance House (CNAS).

The CC carried out unexpected controls at the headquarters of these organizations, according to a press release the institution issued on Wednesday. The searches represent a preliminary stage in the investigation and don’t necessarily mean that the investigated parties breached the competition law.
