Romania’s competition council said on Monday, August 20, it has approved the acquisition of medical laboratory services group IDS Laboratories by local healthcare provider Elite Medical.
“Following a review of the transaction, the Competition Council found that it does not raise significant obstacles to effective competition in the market, in particular by establishing or strengthening a dominant position,” the anti-trust authority said in a statement.
IDS Laboratories comprises Medical Expert Clinic and IDS Laborator, which also provide laboratory medical services in Romania.
Elite Medical is active in the provision of medical services offering a wide range of clinical and paraclinical services, both ambulatory and hospital.
