Milbank Hires Antitrust Pro In DC

Milbank announced that leading antitrust attorney Adam Di Vincenzo has joined the firm’s Washington, DC office as a partner in the Global Antitrust and Competition Practice and Litigation & Arbitration Group.

“We are thrilled to welcome Adam, who is widely respected as one of the leading antitrust lawyers in the United States, to our partnership” said Milbank Chairman Scott A. Edelman. “Adam is an important addition to the strategic expansion of our antitrust offerings in the US and other key jurisdictions globally.”

Mr. Di Vincenzo’s practice focuses on representing domestic and international clients in antitrust and competition reviews of U.S. and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other business combinations.  He also represents clients across a range of industries in government antitrust investigations and in private antitrust litigation.

Mr. Di Vincenzo regularly represents public and private companies, as well as private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, before the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).  He also serves as lead counsel for global clients in parallel antitrust investigations in the U.S., the European Union, and other jurisdictions.  Over the past two decades, he has successfully defended clients in dozens of DOJ and FTC investigations and in private litigation, including some of the most significant transactions in recent history, such as Spark Therapeutics in its merger with Roche and AT&T in its acquisition of Time Warner.  His other notable representations include Berkshire Hathaway Energy, Walmart, Schlumberger and Intel.

“Adam enhances our already strong antitrust capabilities in regulatory and financial centers around the world, most recently with Andrea Hamilton joining us in the London,” said Fiona Schaeffer, head of Milbank’s U.S. Antitrust and Competition Practice. “As antitrust and competition enforcers in the U.S. and internationally are pursuing an ever more aggressive enforcement agenda, the addition of a seasoned attorney like Adam will be invaluable in helping our clients to achieve their strategic goals and successfully navigate antitrust challenges around the globe.”

Alexander Rinne, head of Milbank’s European Antitrust & Competition practice, added:  “Our global antitrust team leads many complex, cross-border transactions for international clients and Adam’s arrival enhances our already strong capabilities around the globe.”

“I am excited to be joining Milbank’s global antitrust team,” said Mr. Di Vincenzo. “The firm has a tradition of excellence, and works seamlessly to achieve superior outcomes for clients pursuing domestic and international transactions and other critical antitrust mandates.  I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues across Milbank’s market-leading corporate and litigation practices to further enhance the firm’s global antitrust and regulatory capabilities.”

Mr. Di Vincenzo joins Milbank from the DC office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where he was a partner in the Antitrust and Competition Law Practice Group. He received his J.D. from Duke University School of Law.
