Italy’s antitrust regulator has opened a probe over the sale of Mediaset’s pay-TV assets to Sky’s Italian unit, it announced on Friday, March 8.
The sale is part of a broader content agreement between the two broadcasters signed in March last year.
The regulator announced in a statement it would assess whether the deal could affect competition in the pay-TV market, where Sky is already the dominant player.
