The Italian Competition Authority (Autorità Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato – AGCM) has said that it has opened an investigation into suspected cartel activity involving television rights to Serie A and Serie B football.
The companies involved are suspected of trying to tamper with how TV rights for games are assigned to be broadcast internationally.
On July 27 the regulator carried out inspections at offices of the companies suspected of participating in cartel activity.
