Italy’s government has appointed Naples court president Roberto Rustichelli as head of the country’s competition authority.
Roberto Rustichelli was born in Faenza and is 57 years old, but lives in Naples where he is president of the B college of the Commercial Court. He graduated in Law at the University of Bologna and in Economics and Management at Sapienza.
“There were a total of 112 candidates, 89% men, 11% women, 51 lawyers, 21 magistrates, 42 university professors, 7 civil servants, 3 entrepreneurs and 6 retirees,” explained the president of the Chamber, Roberto Fico adding that “today we have done something truly exceptional, we have managed to create a method and to put in place a public practice that before, was never possible” explaining the selection procedures of the candidates.
“We have started a new method with President Fico: that of transparency. For this reason we asked the various candidates to send the various curricula to our e-mail, we examined them, bearing in mind the merit,” added President Elisabetta Casellati during the press conference.
