Europe and the US are both holding broad hearings on competition and consumer protection. Why are the hearings taking place, what are the goals, why do they matter to nonpolicy professionals, and how can these hearings can be most effective in advancing competition policy? This first of two panels will explore the aims of the FTC and EU hearings, provide context and background on how the FTC predecessor hearings went in 1995 and the result of those hearings. Panelists will also provide insights into what expect with these guidelines in terms of process and timelines to help you make the most of this once-in-a-generation opportunity.
