The board is expected to make decisions on the location of the center’s research facilities. President Joe Biden aims to expand the domestic chipmaking industry to create high-paying jobs, reduce dependence on major producers in China and Taiwan, and give the United States an advantage in advanced technologies that will power future military technologies.
The NSTC is expected to support and extend US leadership in semiconductor research, design, engineering, and advanced manufacturing for generations to come.
