Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher announced that Sophia Vandergrift has joined the firm as a partner. Vandergrift, formerly with Sullivan & Cromwell, will continue her antitrust practice at Gibson Dunn.
“Sophie is a terrific addition to the firm,” said Barbara L. Becker, Chair and Managing Partner of Gibson Dunn. “Our antitrust practice is extremely busy. With her experience at the FTC and in private practice, Sophie will add additional depth and experience in areas where we are seeing increased demand.”
“We are excited to have Sophie join us,” said Stephen Weissman, a D.C. partner and Co-Chair of the firm’s Antitrust and Competition Practice Group. “She is an excellent lawyer, and her government experience and strong credentials will complement our antitrust practice. Her versatility as a lawyer fits with the Gibson Dunn model of having well-rounded antitrust lawyers who can handle it all from counseling to investigations to litigation.”
“Joining Gibson Dunn and its premier antitrust practice was a natural next step in my career,” said Vandergrift. “I was drawn to the firm’s collaborative and teamwork-oriented approach, and I very much look forward to working with my new colleagues in delivering to our clients top-notch antitrust counseling.”
