A report of the log industry by the German Federal Cartel Office has found continuing concern in various northern states for the state of the market. The report focuses on the 2011/2012 year and was published last month. Specific concerns by regulators include the finding of pooled log marketing of volumes from public, local-authority and private woodlands. The regulator reportedly suggests a short-term solution of a regional forest office, to be established as early as next year.
