France’s Autorite de la concurrence on Monday said it launched an in-depth inquiry into Aeroport de Paris’ proposed establishment of an airport catering joint venture with Select Service Partner.
The planned venture called Extime Food & Beverage Paris will operate almost all of the catering outlets in the Paris-Roissy Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly airports.

Following a phase 1 review, the French regulator concluded that the deal may negatively affect market competition.
In a Tuesday statement, Groupe ADP noted that the joint venture model is normally deployed by airports worldwide, with the company already using it for at least a decade.
The parties are in talks with the French watchdog regarding the transaction’s potential impact on pricing and service quality.
