The European Commission confirmed on Wednesday that on May 16, 2017, it had raided several companies in several Member States regarding suspected cartel violations related to the purchasing of ethylene.

The EC stated in its press release that the raids are merely a preliminary step in an investigation and does not imply that the companies are guilty of any charges.
