EU Commission Closes Antitrust Probe In Wood Pulp Sector

The European Commission announced on Thursday that it had concluded an antitrust investigation in the wood pulp industry due to insufficient evidence to continue the inquiry.

The commission carried out unexpected inspections at wood pulp companies across several EU member states in October 2021, in response to possible antitrust breaches.

Stora Enso and UPM of Finland acknowledged being visited by officials from the European Commission.
