Colombia/Brazil: EEB’s purchase of JMalluceli approved

The Bogota Energy Enterprise (EEB) has received approval to a planned buyout of 51% in four electric supply contracts for Brazil’s south and west regions. The move solidifies EEB’s position as a leader in Latin America’s energy sector, with stakes in 4 separate energy markets.

The deal, valued at around $157.9 million, is part of the company’s $1.8 billion investment plan, approved this summer by the company’s board of directors.

All four of the concessions were obtained through public contests held between 2008 and 2009, for a period of 25 years. The contract will see EEB supply an area of hundreds of square miles, mostly around Brazil’s south and west.
