The Belgian Competition Authority approved the acquisition by Sabena Aerospace and SFPI of Sabena Aerospace Engineering and SABCA
The Investigation and Prosecution Service of the Belgian Competition Authority (BCA) has approved the acquisition on June 16, 2020 the acquisition.
The merger was notified on May 28, 2020. The application of the simplified procedure was requested. The operation concerns companies active in the aeronautics sector, in particular maintenance, repair, and overhaul services.
SFPI is active as a public holding company and as an investment company. Sabena Aerospace is a provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for commercial and military transport aircraft.
SABCA is a Belgian aerospace group specialized in the design, development and manufacture of parts, integrated structural assemblies and actuation systems. SABCA provides maintenance, repair and overhaul services for combat aircraft and military helicopters.
In its decision of 16 June 16, 2020, the BCA found that the conditions for the application of the simplified procedure are met and that the notified merger does not raise any objection.
