Sean-Paul joined Bristows in May 2021 and is an of counsel in the competition team based in Brussels. Sean-Paul is dual English and Belgian qualified and has over 25 years of EU and UK competition law experience as both an advisor and an enforcer. His practice covers complex advisory work, merger control and competition litigation.
Among others, Sean-Paul has extensive experience counselling clients in relation to the interaction between IP and competition law and issues arising in relation to potential dominance. He has been involved in contentious matters before the European Commission and UK authorities, has litigated cases before the European Community courts in Luxembourg, the UK Competition Appeals Tribunal and national courts in the UK and elsewhere. He has significant experience in a range of industry sectors including pharmaceuticals, food and FMCG, and financial services. His clients say he is “very punctual and precise”; provides “very practical, commercial advice” and “uses his knowledge and diplomatic skills to make his points”.
Sean-Paul is a former Legal Director at the Office of Fair Trading, where he was the lead legal advisor to the mergers unit and the head of internal scrutiny.
