Roy Hoffinger is currently Vice President, Legal Counsel, for Qualcomm, Incorporated, a position he has held since October 2006. Qualcomm is a leading developer and licensor of wireless technology, and provider of chips and software for wireless devices and equipment, including handsets, data cards and base stations. As Qualcomm’s chief in-house antitrust counsel, Roy represents the company in agency proceedings and private litigation throughout the world, in addition to counseling Qualcomm’s business units.
Prior to joining Qualcomm, Roy was a partner in the Denver office of Holme, Roberts & Owen, where he practiced antitrust and regulatory law. Roy has also served as Chief Counsel, Antitrust and Federal Regulation, for AT&T Corp., and as VP & Chief Counsel, Federal and State Regulation, for Qwest Communications. Roy received his J.D. from the University of Chicago in 1982, where he was an associate editor of the Law Review.
