Rupprecht Podszun is a full professor for civil law and competition law at the University of Düsseldorf and director of the Institute for Competition Law. He is also an Affiliated Research Fellow with the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, Munich. Prior to joining academia, Rupprecht worked for the Bundeskartellamt, the German competition agency.
He frequently counsels German government and parliament as well as private parties in matters of antitrust and unfair competition law. He also deals with matters at the crossroads of Intellectual Property and competition law.
Rupprecht is an editor of the leading German competition journal Wirtschaft und Wettbewerb (WuW) and of the European Journal of Consumer and Market Law (EuCML). Rupprecht is the Vice President of Ascola, the Academic Society for Competition Law.Holder of the Chair of Civil Law, German and European Competition Law at Heinrich Heine University, Düsseldorf (since Oct. 1, 2016); Director of the Institute of Antitrust Law (IKartR)
