Paulo Furquim de Azevedo is Full Professor at Insper and head of the Center for Regulation and Democracy. He was Visiting Professor at the MIT, in 2012, Visiting Scholar at the University of California at Berkeley, in 1994/95, and served as Commissioner at CADE (Brazilian Competition Agency) from 2006 to 2009, being its Acting President in 2008. Before joining Insper, he was also professor at Sao Paulo School of Economics at FGV, at University of São Paulo and at Federal University of São Carlos in Brazil.
Paulo is a researcher at CNPq and member of the editorial board of several academic journals. He has coordinated research projects funded by Fapesp, on market institutions, by IDB (Inter-American Development Bank), on development policies, and by CEDES, IDRC, and CNJ, on Legal Empirical Studies. Paulo holds a PhD in Economics from University of São Paulo, and a BA in Public Management from FGV. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
