Michael Gu is a co-founder and a principal competition partner of AnJie Law Firm based in Beijing. Michael is also an executive member of AnJie. Michael was a principal competition partner of another leading PRC firm prior to funding AnJie. Michael Gu also spent five years at the competition practices of Linklaters and Allen & Overy. He is among the few top practitioners in China who can provide clients with a full range of cutting-edge legal advice on all types of antitrust matters in China, covering merger filings, antitrust investigations, antitrust civil litigations and compliance audit and trainings.
Michael Gu received his LL.B. degree from Soochow University School of Law in 1993 and was licensed to practice law in the PRC in 1994. Michael Gu has a strong background in both legal education and economic research. He studied EU competition law under the EU-China Legal and Judicial Co-operation Program, sponsored by the PRC Ministry of Justice and European Commission, from 2002 to 2003. He also holds a master’s degree from the China Center for Economic Research at Peking University.
Michael Gu is also a seasoned corporate and M&A practitioner. Michael regularly advises multinational clients on their strategic investments in China and assists them in dealing with challenging and complicated legal matters.
