Matteo is a Competition Expert at the OECD, where he works on competition law and policy topics for the OECD Competition Committee and its Working Parties authoring and contributing to research on cross-cutting competition policy issues involving digital markets. He also works on in-country projects, including on competitive neutrality reviews, competition assessment reviews and market studies supporting governments to lift barriers to competition. He also contributes to capacity-building initiatives for competition authorities and the judiciary.
Before joining the OECD in 2018, he worked as an associate for five years in two top-tier global law firms in Brussels and Milan, advising on merger control and abuse of dominance cases as well as on cartel investigations and litigations. He also interned at the European Commission (DG Competition) and he was a judicial clerk at the Italian Embassy in Washington DC. Matteo holds a BA and MS in Law from Bocconi University and an LLM from the University of Chicago.
