Jozefien Vanherpe is a researcher at CCM focusing on intellectual property, consumer law and competition law. She studied law at KU Leuven and completed her studies Magna Cum Laude in June 2013. In December 2013, her master thesis “Facing the music: The neighbouring right of performing musicians in the digital age” was awarded the Pop Thesis Prize by Poppunt (now VI.BE), the Flemish non-profit organisation that groups the interests of musicians.
During the academic year 2013-2014, Jozefien was enrolled in the LLM program at the University of Cambridge (UK). In June 2014, Jozefien obtained a First Class degree from the University of Cambridge as well as a Bateman Scholarship and the Ian Malcolm Lewis Prize for Law from her college, Trinity Hall.
From 2014 through 2018, Jozefien was active as an associate specialised in intellectual property law with Belgian law firms Eubelius and CAPE IP Law.
