Dr Jasminka Pecotic Kaufman is Professor at University of Zagreb-Faculty of Economics and Business (Department of Law). She has written extensively on a variety of competition law topics and is co-author of the first competition law textbook in Croatian. She teaches courses in Competition Law; Commercial and Company Law; Competition Law and Electronic Communications; Competition Law and Intellectual Property Rights.
She holds a PhD from the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Law where her doctoral thesis discussed the treatment of overt and tacit collusion in US, EC and Croatian competition law. She also holds an LL.M. degree from the University of London, University College London and a dipl. iur. degree from the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Law. She is President of the Croatian Association of Law and Competition Policy (HDPPTN), and Non-Governmental Advisor (NGA) with International Competition Network.
She participated as expert in a number of EU-funded projects related to training national judges in competition law matters. She participated as consultant in an EU project providing assistance to Montenegrin competition authority. She provided advice to a number of Croatian companies in cases before national competition authority. She is a member of ASCOLA (Academic Society for Competition Law-In charge of the Balkans Chapter), Mediterranean Competition Council, Croatian Society for European Law, YARS (Yearbook of Antitrust and Regulatory Studies)-Scientific Board. She was a member of the Croatian Government Working Group for Negotiations with EU in the areas of Competition Policy and Law of Establishment and Free Provision of Services. She was a national correspondent for the European Competition Law Review.
