Gianna Puccinelli
Gianna uses her commercial litigation knowledge to assist clients facing enquiries or investigations from state attorneys general (AGs). She is experienced in all stages of litigation, from the development of strategy through discovery, document analysis, pleading and motion drafting and filing, expert witness deposition, and trial, if necessary. She also prepares and analyzes materials for presentation to state AG offices.
Gianna has advised large companies on regulatory compliance, consumer protection, and antitrust and unfair competition issues with a particular focus on the pharmaceutical industry, and has experience in government contracts, securities, and cross-border issues. She is focused on ensuring that litigation strategies align with clients’ goals and has argued on behalf of clients in federal court.
Gianna worked pro bono to help bring an action in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia under the Fair Housing Act on behalf of a group of Latino families who were unlawfully evicted from a mobile home park due to their immigration status. She also assisted in appealing the case to the U.S. Court of Appeal for the Fourth Circuit, obtaining a favorable ruling on behalf of her clients and keeping their claims alive in the trial court.
Gianna earned her bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from Georgetown University and her law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. While studying for her J.D., Gianna interned in the U.S. Attorney’s Office Washington, D.C. and in the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.
