Georgiana Pop is the Global Lead for Competition Policy. She is an economist and practitioner with extensive experience on competition policies, state aid, state-owned enterprises, macroeconomics and structural policies. She authored analytical work and led advisory on competition, private sector development and pro-competition reforms in telecom, transport, agriculture in more than thirty low- and middle-income countries from Europe and Central Asia, South Asia, East Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Caribbean.
Prior to joining the World Bank, Georgiana worked at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the European Commission and the Competition Council of Romania.
