Dave is a partner of Clifford Chance's Sydney office. He is Head of Antitrust for Asia Pacific and Head of Telecommunications, Media and Technology for Asia Pacific and a member of the Global Antitrust practice. Dave specialises in competition law, and has over 20 years’ experience managing significant clearances for Australian and international M&A, joint ventures and alliances. He has also worked on infrastructure access and regulatory matters, as well as advising on competition agency investigations and cartel matters. Dave acted for Emirates on its global partnership with Qantas and obtaining associated international regulatory clearances and for SABMiller in its AU$12 billion takeover of Fosters. His clients include national and international mining, energy, telecommunications, media, financial services, health services, manufacturing, building materials and IT companies.
Dave is the co-chair of the International Bar Association's Antitrust Committee and past chair of the Law Council of Australia's Competition and Consumer Committee, as well as being a Non-Government advisor to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) on merger processes in relation to the International Competition Network (ICN) for a number of years.
