Christi J. Braun is a principal and member of Ober|Kaler's Antitrust and Competition, Litigation, and Health Law Groups. Her practice focuses on counseling healthcare clients on matters involving antitrust compliance, litigation of antitrust and other complex commercial matters, review of mergers, and structuring of joint ventures among healthcare providers and businesses. Christi has represented clients in antitrust litigation in federal and state courts and in antitrust investigations conducted by the Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, and several state attorneys general. She represents physicians, hospitals, ancillary care providers, independent practice associations, physician-hospital organizations, pharmacy services administrative organizations, trade associations, and insurers in all phases of investigation and litigation arising from antitrust claims and other civil statutes.
Christi has provided antitrust guidance and assistance in provider business transactions, including physician-hospital joint ventures involving single specialty hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers, hospital acquisitions of physician practices, and physician practice mergers. She also has extensive experience in the development and implementation of clinical integration and accountable care organizations by physicians and hospitals.
Prior to joining Ober|Kaler, Christi was a staff attorney in the Health Care Services; Products Division of the Federal Trade Commission.
