Carlos Ragazzo is a Professor of Law, Fundação Getulio Vargas in Rio de Janeiro (FGV Direito Rio). PHD in Law – State University of Rio de Janeiro – UERJ. Former CADE Commissioner and General Superintendent.
He has published extensively in Antitrust and Regulatory Law with expertise in several sectors (http://works.bepress.com/carlos_ragazzo/).
He was CADE's first General Superintendent from 2012 to 2014 (the General Superintendence was created by the new Brazilian competition law, in effect since June of 2012); Carlos Ragazzo was also a Commissioner at CADE from 2008 to 2012. Previously, he held the position of Head of the Antitrust Unit at the Secretariat of Economic Monitoring (SEAE) of the Ministry of Finance from 2003 to 2008. Mr. Ragazzo also worked as a lawyer at Pinheiro Neto Advogados from 1999 to 2001 and as a trainee in the US Federal Trade Commission in 2002.
Mr. Ragazzo holds an SJD and a Master's of Laws with honors and distinction from the State University of Rio de Janeiro - UERJ. He is also a Master of Laws in Trade Regulation and Competition Policy from the New York School of Law NYU and holds a Bachelor of Laws from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro - PUC-RJ.
