Alejandro Alterwain leads FERRERE’s Antitrust team and is a member of the Intellectual Property group, with particular experience in trademark and copyright litigation. His professional practice also includes mining law.
In antitrust he has participated in numerous claims and investigations and in reports of economic concentration. He regularly participates as an instructor in corporate training about antitrust activities and is consulted by local and multinational companies to define their product distribution strategies in Uruguay. He has also successfully represented diverse clients in judicial and administrative actions against market regulations with anti-competitive aspects.
He is a professor of Intellectual Property and Negotiation of Complex Contracts at Universidad ORT, a guest lecturer on Antitrust, and the author of numerous national and international publications on these subjects.
