Smith, Currie & Hancock, a law firm based in Atlanta, will be joining Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker, another midsize U.S. law firm based in Seattle, to create a united law firm consisting of 76 attorneys. The combined firms will keep the name Smith, Currie and Hancock LLP.
The firms announced that their decision to combine was based on their shared focus on construction and federal government contracts, as well as their mutual interest in expanding their geographic reach.

Smith, Currie and Hancock LLP announced plans to have offices located in Atlanta, Charlotte, Fort Lauderdale, Nashville, Seattle, the Bay Area, and the Washington, D.C. area, with further presence in Miami and Columbia, South Carolina.
According to data from legal consultancy Fairfax Associates tracking first-quarter activity, combinations among large or midsize law firms have increased in 2023, exceeding the rate in 2022.
