Mexico: José Eduardo Mendoza nominated as commissioner of COFECE

President Enrique Peña Nieto nominated José Eduardo Mendoza Contreras as commissioner of the Federal Commission of Economic Competition (COFECE).

If the Senate ratifies the president’s proposal, Mendoza Contreras will fill the vacancy left by Benjamín Contreras Astiazarán and will be commissioned for nine years.

José Eduardo Mendoza has a degree in Economics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and two Masters in Economics, one from the College of Mexico (Colmex) and another from Boston University.
