Nelson Mullins Grows Antitrust Team In Washington

Andrew Lee has recently joined Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough as a partner based in Washington, DC. He is well-regarded in the international antitrust field and provides advice to clients on various antitrust matters, particularly in the defense of cartel investigations, multi-claim antitrust litigation, and merger clearances under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act. Prior to joining the firm, Lee gained valuable experience at the FTC, where he played a key role in initiating notable antitrust enforcement actions and contributed to the formulation of comprehensive antitrust enforcement policies.

In the past two decades, Lee has provided counseling to many prominent global corporations dealing with high-risk antitrust cases in various industries such as semiconductor, display, automotive, lithium-ion batteries, energy, transportation, and consumer/medical products. Frequently, due to the international nature of these cases, Lee acts as global coordinating counsel for his clients, overseeing parallel proceedings taking place in multiple jurisdictions to ensure the most favorable result.

Lee provides advice to clients who may face product safety and liability issues in various complex situations. He represents clients who carry out product safety recalls in relation to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and similar agencies worldwide. Additionally, he represents these clients in defending against consumer class actions in the United States that may arise from such product safety or recall concerns.

Lee has an active practice in Asia Pacific, providing advice to clients on various issues that impact their U.S. and global operations. His role involves advising on legal matters such as corporate internal investigations, U.S. regulatory compliance risk assessments, and cross-border dispute resolutions and arbitration.

“Andrew’s arrival in our Washington D.C. office will further strengthen Nelson Mullins’s capability to provide a comprehensive suite of antitrust advisory services in Washington, D.C. and nationwide. In addition, his strong Asia practice – particularly on behalf of leading global Korean conglomerates – further highlights our firm’s unquestionable commitment to growing and devoting our best legal talents to achieve extraordinary outcomes in high-stakes matters for our Korean clients,” said Washington D.C. Managing Principal Christopher T. Cushing.
