Brian Burke has joined Steptoe & Johnson as a partner in the investigations and white-collar defense practice in New York, the firm said Tuesday.
Burke advises clients with operations in Asia on FCPA and anti-corruption, economic sanctions, antitrust, shareholder litigation, and anti-money laundering, according to Steptoe.

Brian Burke, a fluent Mandarin speaker, focuses on advising clients with operations in Asia on FCPA/anti-corruption, economic sanctions, antitrust, shareholder litigation, anti-money laundering and other compliance and investigative matters. He has conducted dozens of investigations throughout Asia Pacific, including Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam.

He joins the firm from Shearman & Sterling, where he was based in Hong Kong and New York, Steptoe said.
