The EU’s antitrust case against Russian gas giant Gazprom is reportedly drawing to a close. Bulgaria and other eastern and central European countries involved in the probe are keeping a close eye on how Brussels handles the case.
Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Energy Anton Pavlov said, speaking for the Russian edition, the government in Sofia would insist on a continuation of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline, which is to replace the South Stream project, to reach the gas pipeline between Bulgaria and Greece that is under construction.
Thus Bulgaria would turn into a door to the European gas transmission network.
