The Competition Commission of Pakistan has urged the government to put an end to the monopoly of the country’s state-owned National Insurance Co. Ltd. with respect to insurance of public property, reports Asia Insurance Review.
Currently all insurance business relating to any public property or to any risk or liability appertaining to any public property is to be placed with NICL only.
CCP observed that this monopoly of NICL harms competition in the country’s insurance market.
