Global Economics Group Incorporates Former Argentine Competition Agency Chairman Esteban Greco

Global Economics Group is delighted to add Esteban Greco, former president of the National Commission for the Defense of Competition in Argentina (CNDC), to its global team of antitrust and regulation economic experts. In addition to bringing his expert knowledge and experience to our team, he expands our presence in Latin America.

Esteban Greco is a recognized economic expert in competition policy and regulation. In addition to being president of the in Argentina between 2016 and 2020, he previously advised public and private organizations in Latin America on competition policy, economic regulation and energy matters for two decades. In addition, he previously served as Commissioner and Chief Economist of the CNDC and Deputy Manager of Performance and Economics of the Argentine Natural Gas Regulatory Entity (ENARGAS).

Esteban Greco has been a professor at the University of Buenos Aires, Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (Argentina), CIDE (Mexico) and Lead University (Costa Rica), with numerous publications on competition and regulation in Latin America. He received his M.A. in Economics from the Regional Graduate Program in Public Policy Research and Analysis of the Torcuato Di Tella Institute and the Inter-American Development Bank and his B.A. in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires.

Over the last decade, the Spanish speaking team has successfully advised local and global clients with economic interests in Latin American on multiple important issues; competition agencies, governments, and multilateral institutions on antitrust, competition policy and regulatory matters; and private companies on litigation before national competition authorities, regulators, and courts. Recent highlights include merger processes, hardcore cartel damages analyses, unilateral conduct cases and digital market analyses in various sectors: telecommunications, energy, retail, maritime railway transport, ecommerce, credit card and payment systems, broadcasting, building materials, among others.
