BakerHostetler announced the launch of the Digital Transformation and Data Economy (DTDE) practice team. This is the seventh practice team under the firm’s Digital Assets and Data Management (DADM) Practice Group.
The new team addresses the challenges businesses face when interacting with customers, structuring their businesses, and delivering goods and services. Co-leading the DTDE team is Jeewon Kim Serrato, former chief privacy officer for Fannie Mae and head privacy executive of RELX Group. Serrato was most recently head of US data protection, privacy and cybersecurity at Norton Rose Fulbright. Based in the BakerHostetler’s recently launched San Francisco office, she will co-lead the team alongside partners Janine Anthony Bowen and Chad Rutkowski.

This new team allows us to address a growing client need to develop and manage digital technology and data strategies in response to disruptions to their business – whether the company is changing its business model, seeking to gain market share or exiting an industry,” said Ted Kobus, chair of the DADM Practice Group. “Jeewon, Janine and Chad each bring different skills to the team’s leadership, enabling us to offer cross-practice support as our clients use new technology to drive innovation and revenue.”

The DTDE team comprises attorneys from BakerHostetler’s DADM and Intellectual Property practice groups. In an evolving business environment, the new team provides a robust legal foundation that will support an organization’s digital transformation and provide comprehensive counsel through the life cycle of data, assisting clients with not only identifying and managing digital risks, but also building opportunities. The practice will focus on assisting clients that are leveraging technology to support growth and protect their assets.
